Renovation of stained glass windows for stitching and re-stitching.
« Rénovation Vitrail tableau » (Renovation of stained glass panels)
Restoration of a broken piece that forms part of a stained glass painting in order to be re-inserted into the stained glass window by means of re-pointing.
As this piece had gaps, it could not be restored by gluing. What's more, it was a work painted using the silk-screen printing technique of the 19th century, which was impossible to reproduce quickly and at low cost.
The grisaille and enamel painting is done by hand in the traditional manner, using a sugar-based binder to reproduce the distinctive grain of the silkscreen.
