« Femmes à la Source » (Women at the Spring)

This stained glass is reproduced from a work by Paul Sérusier, assembled using the Tiffany method. The intense luminosity of the yellow sun, reflected in the water of the spring, contrasts with the blue-green of the undergrowth and the slender trunks that stand out against the light. The simple lines create an elegant trail that follows the natural contours of the landscape. In the spirit of the Nabis movement, these warm colours can be used as part of an interior decoration, either as a folding screen or as a back-lit painting. The Art Nouveau panel is mounted in a wrought-iron frame on a stand designed by wrought-iron craftsman Éric Bonnot so that it can be used as a blackout screen. In keeping with the natural setting of the original painting, the frame has a black lacquer finish and the base is reminiscent of the waves of spring.   Find out more about the Nabis =>le blog
