Lead: soon to be replaced in our stained glass windows!
As part of its CSR approach, Énergie des Couleurs has volunteered to test new lead replacement materials in the stained glass industry.
Congratulations to all those involved in the SUPPLART project: CERFA’s R&D, the Halle des Matériaux of the EEIGM (University of Lorraine) and with the support of Carnot Icéel.
The first trials of this alloy as a replacement for lead look promising.
It is my hope that the results of the ageing and weathering tests on these new materials will soon be published.
I’m looking forward to using them in future creations and hope that they will patinate as well as current lead to please contemporary stained glass customers.
We can’t wait to get the samples into our workshop and test them!
